Chief Gray Wolf rode into camp. Behind him was the carcass of a deer. Yellow Coyote ran up to him, urgently shook the chief's knee. "Chief, Chief," he shouted, "while you gone,

A council was called, a peace pipe passed, and the consensus was payback, that Chief Gray Wolf was to rape Big Bear's wife.
Chief Gray Wolf approached Big Bear's tent, callously threw back the flap, threw Big Bear's wife on a bear rug and raped the Bear's wife.
As he left the tent, Big Bear's wife called to him: "Chief! Chief! Take more revenge!" He returned to her side, took more revenge.
He left again. "Chief, Chief," the Bear's wife shouted, "take more revenge!"
Chief Gray Wolf drew himself to his full height, placed his hand over his heart and in a stentorian voice emoted: "No longer, Chief have hard feelings."{
